Problem-free pool contracting Auckland wide

The impossible, made possible

Sloping Silverdale section gets Custom Liner Pool

Issue

Installing a pool on this 500 sq m section on a 45 degree site had never been considered possible.

Described as a backyard useful for little more than falling down whilst mowing the lawn, Poolcorp set about designing & planning a custom made liner pool for the location.

An awkward site with very little turnaround room, the only access available was a 1 metre wide pathway. Soil extracted from the site had to be wheel-barrowed out down the path each time.

Action

Poolcorp designed, planned and installed a custom made liner swimming pool specific to the site. A flat area atop the pool site was levelled and made into a lawn play area.

The customised pool also included a:

  • water feature
  • new retaining wall
  • wooden decking surrounds
  • safety glass fencing

The best and easiest way

Result

A truly transformed back yard with the perfect pool solution.

Poolcorp’s Steve Mabbett says although a difficult challenge at times the end result delighted his client.

”This is the best and easiest way to fill in the ridiculous slope, while also helping to retain and support the flat top as a usable play area for the kids,” says Steve.

Despite the hard work involved the thrilling end result was worth the clients’ reaction.

Pool in first, then house gets built

Extremely steep Cockle Bay section gets a Penguin Pool

Issue

This was a new house build on Evelyn Road in Cockle Bay. Challenging is an understatement.

It became clear that the only way an in-ground fibreglass pool was going to be installed on this section, was for it to go in first, and the house be built around it afterwards.

Action

“Even with no house in the way, the lift was a big lift anyway,” Steve says.

Getting materials and vehicles to the pool site was a challenge due to its steep gradient.

“But we got it lifted in and got it in the ground. It was certainly one of our more unusual installs,” says Steve.

The pool was then filled with water and a timber ply cover installed over it to protect it while the house itself was built.

Once the client's house was finished, Poolcorp returned to finish off the pool surrounds, get the pool operational and complete fencing and landscaping.

The result was a very satisfied client, complete with a new house and new swimming pool.

Full package deal for property renovation

Literally, going above and beyond for Glendowie renovation

Issue

This Glendowie property owner was undertaking a property renovation, including a new pool install.

As with any renovation, this required coordination between multiple parties.

When it came time to install the fibreglass pool,  the owner was having trouble coordinating the removal of the garage to make room for the pool.

Action

  • Steve and the Poolcorp team set about compiling the accessories the pool was going to need to start with, such as copings and cover.
  • To aid the client and keep the project moving, Steve offered to remove the garage’s old concrete pad with his own digger to clear the site for the pool install.
  • At the same time, Steve also cleared the garden and retained garden beds.
  • Then it was time for the pool to be craned into position. ”It was a small cul de sac with 3 sets of power lines to contend with,” Steve says.
  • They removed a few fence panels to ensure the crane got as near as it could to the driveway.  “We positioned the pool between the power lines and lifted it straight up and over and positioned it in a little manpower.”

Took the backyard renovation deadline stress, away from the customer

Result

Once the pool was installed,  it became clear the client’s renovation plan wasn’t exactly going smoothly as its deadline neared.

Steve offered to complete the backyard reno for the client and set about completing:

  • the concrete surrounds
  • section fencing
  • electrical connection and the filter box

This took the backyard renovation deadline stress, away from the customer.

Tricky suburban pool install

Custom Liner Pool for tiny Westmere backyard

Issue

A large split level house in Westmere with a shared driveway and a tiny square patch of backyard.

The unused, unseen piece of land was of little use for anything. The homeowners had been told they would never be able to fit a pool in there, unless it was a container pool. But that just wasn’t their style.

Action

Poolcorp were engaged to work their magic and install a custom liner pool in the barely used space.

“Our liner pools can suit any space and we utilise the whole space that is available. This gives the client the biggest pool possible in a tiny space,” says Steve

Originally they had planned the slim liner pool to lay lengthways. But this still left some unutilised space and meant the loss of some precious parking space.

“So, we then turned it around and utilised the whole space and even gained some parking space, “ Steve says.

In-ground Penguin pool for Waiheke Island

Logistical challenges are no obstacle to Poolcorp

Issue

A new resort on Waiheke Island required a new Penguin brand “Sapphire” pool.

The 12 metre fibreglass in-ground pool, along with everything else needed to be shipped, by ferry, from the mainland.

“Nothing is ever straightforward for properties on one of our islands,” says Steve.

Firstly the pool required an ‘oversize vehicle’ to transport it across the island's narrow winding roads to its destination.

“That took some booking on the car ferry to begin with,” Steve says.

Action

Poolcorp set about planning careful logistics to get the one piece pool to its new home.

“In this case, the final vehicle access to the property was along the local airstrip,” Steve says, “so the journey alone required detailed planning across a diverse terrain.”

“We set the pool in, hooked it up and finished the concreting and put up the fencing.”

The clients were well pleased with the smooth install. As were we.

Result

The result was a beautiful and elegant 12 metre in-ground swimming pool, perfect for its resort use. And complemented with finished concrete surrounds, allowing plenty of poolside space.

“The clients were well pleased with the smooth install. As were we. It’s great to have it be so smooth despite the obstacles the island naturally presents,” says Steve.
